Liming Auxiliary

Rockaltal RMB is a liming auxiliary which can be used instead of sodium sulphide and the advantage is that it does not discharge any harmful sulphide ion in effluent. Also it gives a cleaner pelts with tighter grain and the leather produced by this product will give more yield in area.

Application & Recommendation

Exceptionally when Rockaltal RMB used in process, clean and fine grained and smooth pelts are achieved. The hair destroying part of Rockaltal RMB which is organic compound with reducing effect, if used in excess rates will be oxidized immediately by the oxygen in atmosphere and no harmful substances will go to effluent.

RECIPE
Liming

20-30%            Float at 28°C

3.5-4.5%          Rockaltal RMB

1%                   Hydrated lime

Run 30 min, rest 30 min, run 10 min, rest 30 min add

70-150%          Float at 28°C

0.2%                Caustic Soda solution(50%)

1%                   Lime

Run 5 min and then 1 min every hour totally 12-16 hour Drain float Wash 2 times for 20 min each, each case with 300% water 28°C Flesh, trim, ...
